Coldstream communication was excellent and while I could have been hands-off, they were patient and helpful regarding positioning the panels on the roof to balance appearance and efficiency. Very satisfied with their team and so far with the product. We did have an issue where the incorrect brand critter guard was installed, but they replaced it at no cost.

20 REC 450 Watt Panels (~9KW) in Dec 2025 Working with ColdStream to get my Solar project planned, permitted, installed and online was a very professional experience. Greg, Evan and the entire team kept me in the loop on all steps from HOA approval to County Approval to Interconnect and Net Metering with AES. We had a few items outside of anyone’s controls (Panels I wanted were caught up in Supply side issues). The ColdStream team came up with work arounds so we could hit the end of December Operational timeline to ensure I received the tax incentives before they expired. System was installed and online by the 10th and AES and the County gave final approvals by the 15th. The ColdStream Team had to deal with a lot of questions from me (I am an Engineer and Electrician) and they were patience and provided knowledgeable and full answers to all questions. This was one of the best home update projects in years and that is all to the team from ColdStream. I could not have asked for a better outcome. I fully recommend them to anyone looking to add Solar to their home or Business. DaveB

Coldstream was great to work with for our residential solar installation. Luke is knowledgeable about what would work for our house and if it would be worth the money to install. The team cares about the value you get from solar panels and don’t just want to sell you something to make a quota, but really want it to be a good fit. They were easy to communicate with and available for any questions. Evan did a great job navigating the city and Duke permit requirements to install on our 100+yr old home. Since our home was so old we had to upgrade our panel and disconnect to current code, but Logan and the electrician team did a great job in making the transition. I would definitely work with them again and recommend to others.

We were very pleased with our overall experience with Cold Stream Solar. Luke was a professional salesperson, providing information and answering questions at the initial visit. Luke worked with us to find the best number of panels that suited our needs and our roof structure. He continued to respond to all our questions and was an active participant as we filed our application with our HOA. The installation went very smoothly. 2 electricians and 2 installers showed up, got to work and finished the installation in about 6 hours. When they needed more paint to cover the conduit, Evan went to the store and refilled the supply we had gotten. They cleaned up our yard of all debris and materials. We recommend this company over some of the others who provided quotes to us. There was no hard sell. With Coldstream having both a solar and roofing division, we feel comfortable they will provide any future service we need to the solar panel system or the roof.

I recently hired Coldstream to do our roof and solar install. The company was great to work with from beginning to end. They were super knowledgeable during the quote process (I got 12 different quotes) and even helped me evaluate other quotes. They helped me evaluate specific panels and microinverters. They worked diligently with me, answering all of my questions while helping me to work with my HOA. They took care of all of the regulations with the city and state. It was a seemless process and I would recommend my team of Luke (sales), Evan (ops), Cliff (Master Electrician), and Logan (electrician) to anyone.

Luke, who came to our house and gave us a presentation of why we should use his company was a very classy young man and gave us factual information. We had questions for him, and he answered them to our satisfaction. Evan, who overall the installation is an incredible young man, and we were very pleased to have him as the foreman of our job.

Greg, Evan, Cliff and the team put in quite a bit of work to coordinate a carefully considered solar setup, some home electrical work to get up to code, and a roof install. Having a solar and roofing company under one roof made communication and planning much easier for both projects. I appreciated that everybody was highly responsive with questions and document requests and helped get us set up for net metering, by dealing with the power company and the county.

We've been trying to harness energy from nuclear fusion for the past 80 years... turns out we already have a huge nuclear fusion reactor that can power all our needs, runs 24/7 non-stop, doesn't need any maintenance, and has enough fuel to keep running essentially forever. All we had to do is put these panels up to capture the energy it produces. Luke did a great job explaining all the stuff. Cliff and Logan did a great job installing the wiring for the system, and they even made sure there's plenty of silicone to seal around holes and stuff. Now my electricity is coming directly from energy released by the hydrogen fusion of a main sequence star. Stellar!

My wife and I are very impressed with the Coldstream Solar team and the solar energy system that they have installed in our home. Members of this team were very professional during every step of the process. It began with our introduction to Coldstream Solar and the excellent proposal presentation given by Luke (Sales Representative). Then Evan (Operations Manager) expertly performed the technical home visit to prepare for the installation. Finally on the big day a few weeks later, we watched the team of four men, led by Cliff (Master Electrician) and Logan (Electrician) install our new solar energy system. They obviously knew what they were doing and had our system running in about four to five hours. Each member of the team was courteous, respectful of our home, and always willing to answer our questions. During the time leading up to the system installation, Luke kept us up to date with the progress of the system design, obtaining the needed permits, interconnecting with our electric company, etc. He also took the time to give me a tour of the Coldstream Solar office/warehouse and to stop by our home on installation day to see how things were going. It’s so fun now to open the smart phone app on sunny days and see how much surplus electricity we are exporting to our electric company.

My husband an I met Luke at COLDSTREAM in 2023 and started our research and development phase of getting solar for our property. We were ready in the summer of 2024 and went over all the possible scenarios for where and how we would go about mounting not one, but two systems. We have a large property with outbuildings that also require energy. This was not the quick add to a house rooftop. The team at COLDSTREAM put their heads and years of expertise together to get us the best set up. Thank you to Evan and Cliff that delivered day of and made sure everything was set up and installed quickly and with the long trench getting dug around all the large shelf rocks in the path. And Luke that made sure we saw complete systems that would be similar to our own first hand. You cannot go wrong with this hard working and knowledgeable team. After two months of the system being activated we received our first $0.00 bills for the two systems. In the winter, can’t wait to see what the summer sun brings.

Finally pulled the trigger for solar panels since our monthly electric bill kept increasing over the past several years. It made financial sense to go solar since our monthly bill would be fixed and would cost less than our current monthly electric bill. Greg provided me with all the information i needed to make an informed decision and answered all my questions. Evan and his team of installers were fast and accommodated my specific requests without any issues. Panels look clean along the roof and the wiring/conduits along the external wall of the house looks good and not an eye-sore. I had Coldstream install solar on my house in Mid September. Their preinstall support was great - they handled permits and inspections and prepared the paperwork for my HOA review / approval. Since install - system is working exactly as designed. I am a "net exporter" of energy most days -- and as of today's stats -- I've cumulatively produced more than I have used (net export to Duke) over the last 8 weeks (including some hot weeks with a lot of AC demand). I priced several suppliers and I found Coldstream both cost competitive -- and the easiest to work with.

Goal was to install solar to produce enough energy to meet my annual needs. Installed 100 KW solar panels (25 400 watt) plus 20 kw battery backup. Clean, neat professional installation. System produces just a little more than was quoted. Transition to battery's during power failures is excellent with no interruptions.

I worked with Sean to design my solar roof plan. He walked through the benefits with me and my wife and then sent over two designs with estimates. The first would cover roughly 80% of my usage while the second covered over 100% of my usage. I was still on the fence about purchasing solar but after a few weeks Sean reached back out and said they had a finance partner that would be able to provide a 0% interest loan. The installation and set up took about 2 days and so far I have seen great results in the winter months. Excited to see how this system works out during the summer.

We had a grid tied solar system installed on our home, it was a wonderful experience. From the initial consultation with Evan and Greg to being able to see our energy production on the app at the completion - it was everything we hoped for. The Coldstream team was able to answer questions and navigate dealing with our grid provider. They were there to answer questions and explain the process. Installation was quick and thorough. Again they explained how the system was being installed and how it functioned. Coldstream has stayed in contact to assure our satisfaction. The app allows us to see - in 15 minute increments - energy taken off the grid at night, our enery consumption through the 24hrs, our solar energy production, … and best of all our banking of energy put back on to the grid!!! We could not be happier with our choice of Coldstream as our solar contractor. They are highly recommended!!!
