If your are looking at getting a solar system installed I highly recommend you get at least three quotes. But if you don’t include Thirsty Lakes in one of your quotes you are making a huge mistake. Jeff at Thirsty Lakes is very conservative when he is putting your quote together, and he will develop a system that best fits your home’s needs. Jeff developed a system that hopefully will be revenue neutral after 12 months. He will not try and sell you a system that is more than what you need. He is very good at explaining what he thinks you need for a system and why. I would strongly recommend you have Jeff give you a quote before you have a system installed. Thirsty Lake has installed several PV systems on our street - thought that was a good recommendation and were not disappointed. The install is very neat and is working well so far.

Walked us through from estimate to helping with DEQ loan follow up paperwork. Friendly, patient, and professional all the way. Ask for info on snow guards before install if putting panels over high traffic area.

I like the friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, small business type customer service I received from the initial consultation all the way through the finish of the install of the PV system on my residence. Communication was superb too. With my install the meter box and service panel were replaced and upgraded too and Jeff took care of this as well. He was very accommodating for some special requests I wanted done at the service panel. All of the electrical upgrades at the service panel and meter box were done very professionally by Jeff. And the same can be said for PV system too, from how the inverter and emt conduit was mounted and ran to the layout and install of the panels on the roof. Jeff was very knowledgeable and got teh job done sooner than originally promised. It was nice working with the owner of a business who does the work himself (occasionally with an assistant) and takes pride in his work.

I am very happy with my home solar installation. I chose Thirsty Lake because of the quality of their work on a large community project which Jeff installed here in Basin.

Thirsty Lake Solar installed our first system about eight years ago, and added to the system this spring to bring to the max our electric coop will allow. We came back to Thirsty Lake because of their stellar customer service, their promptness in planning and answering questions, their quiet professionalism over the course of the installation process, and because our original system has worked well for years. We've had absolutely no problems with our first array, and Jeff has generously answered my questions about obliquely related issues like co-op demand charges and state renewable energy policy. We live in a high-wind area and the bracing for the panels has given us no worries. We're happy with our system!

We chose Thirsty Lake Solar because they offered us a completely integrated solar power option. Jeff Wongstrom met with us initially to get a thorough understanding of our needs and at our next meeting returned with a complete set of plans and cost options. He worked independently from us- scheduling his time to work around the rest of the construction of our new house and when we were ready, so was he. I have a small, off-grid cabin of about 600 ft/sq. I did not have a lot of experience with solar but wanted to use it for everything except heat, which was wood and propane. Jeff is as professional and efficient with his work as anyone I have dealt with...as his ratings indicate. I also impressed with his willingness to answer questions from time to time and provide me with all the necessary reference material that I need to educate myself. Now, a year later, I am even more impressed with how well the system is working and how little maintenance I have had to perform. This was one of the best experiences I have had with a contractor. Everything was as I was told it would be. Work was exceptional quality. Price was good, even a little less than we originally were told. Work was completed on time and system was operational in a very timely fashion. Work done and the installation are high quality and complement and blend well with our roof and structure.
