Delamination
Panels are delaminating after less than six years of service. I hope either the company that made them, Silicon Energy, or the installer, Brimma Solar will stand behind the product.

Delamination
Installed 18 Cascade Series modules in 6/2011. In 1/2017 system failed due to delamination. Silicon Energy unresponsive to date, >$10,000 short of payback on system cost even with state and federal incentives.

Delamination of panels; company closed, will not honor warrnaty
Three years after our solar system was installed using Silicon Energy panels, the panels are delaminating. The company itself claims to be out of business, and unable/unwilling to honor its 5 year warranty, leaving homeowners stuck with failing panels.

6 KWH Array near Seattle.
We evaluated other panel designs before selecting Silicon-Energy for our 6 KWHr system near Seattle WA. I had the opportunity to visit the factory and was impressed with the process and attention to quality control. Our south-facing roof has great solar exposure and comfortably accommodated the 30 - 200 W panels. We particularly like the appearance of the system since it is on the roof over our main entry. Visitors have noted its clean look. In 4 months it has been operational it has performed as advertized. Highly recommended.

Love it
I originally purchased Silicon Energy panels because of the government tested longevity which reported zero defects after a 60 year stress test. Also because they were produced here in Washington they qualified for the voter approved production credit. A very nice add on that made the instillation very investment friendly for early investors. Couple that with the fact that I used a local installer means that I receive $0.54/kWh above me production savings. That program sunsets in 2020 at which point my investment will be ~= to what latter investors will be charged but in the interim I have helped build Green Distributed Energy that brings those costs down for later investors as well as employing WA labor and business. A Win -Win. I love that system and with the production credit I receive ~10% ROI. Do that on Wall Street if you are not an inside trader.

My production credit and 2.25 kW array pays for all my modest electrical expenses including my ductless heat pump for the year. In addition it covers all my gas for hot water and stove as well as all the yearly gas for my Honda FIT! I still have a couple of hundred $$$ sitting on the table. What is not to like. I do live a modest life stile in a 1300 sq. ft passive solar well insulated home and I am energy conscious.

Completely satisfied in every way
52 SIE 190 panels

Installation and function of the entire system has been flawless. Fire Mountain Solar did a wonderful job and Tim and Alana were great to work with.

Wish I'd done it sooner!!
I love my 3.12 kW system. I haven't had an energy bill since its installation....just account credits that keep rolling over monthly and becoming bigger. I financed them at a great rate, so they're a good financial investment. And I'm doing my part for the environment.
I haven't had even a single issue since their installation over one year ago. I couldn't be more pleased with my contractor, Fire Mt. Solar in Mt. Vernon!
