Update 4/4/22: Update: Corey contacted me to describe his routine practice of conducting a review of the system after 12 months of operation. He explained that it is necessary to have 12 months' worth of data to fully assess the performance because the system may over-perform (vs original estimate) in some months, compensating for under-performance in other months. He also explained that they recently discovered that their design software was not modeling the effects of shading correctly, which could explain why the estimates presented to us were not accurate month-to-month. The company has since updated their modeling tool to more accurately calculate the effects of shading. He assured me that if, after 12 months, the system has not produced the overall expected amount of power, he will take care of adding panels and/or trimming trees as necessary to achieve the rated capacity of the system. I will withhold further judgment until the 12-month assessment and followup actions (if required) are completed. At that time, I will provide another update.
-------------------------------------------------------

We had a solar power system installed in September, 2021. The installation process was smooth. The installers were professional. However, in the 6 months that the system has been operating, it has consistently produced less than 50% of the amount of electricity that was predicted in our proposal. Corey Argentino acknowledges that something is wrong, and he has "promised" to "make it right", but he has failed to show up for scheduled appointments, and he has not responded to my texts or calls for the past 3 months. With the current performance, we will not recoup our investment within the 25-year useful life of the solar panels. My advice is to get a guarantee in writing. They obviously can't promise an exact production level because of weather fluctuations, but they can promise that over a period of time, a high percentage of the expected rating will be achieved. Be sure you get a written statement of the remedy they will supply if the expectations are not met, with timings.
