I am very pleased with the solar installation by Nova Solar, Inc. All my interactions with them have been excellent. Everyone, from the initial contact to get a quote, the site survey, the discussion about the contract details, the periodic updates on the status of project approvals, installation, and activation were friendly and professional. They carefully explained each step in the process and answered all my questions. The installation itself went smoothly, taking less time than expected. The team arrived on time, worked professionally, explained the details of how the system was connected, and what the next steps would be. So far (two days) the system seems to be working as expected.

They got me completed quickly and efficiently. Payment was in installments. Work was completed in one day with inspection and approval done the next week. All work finished! Hooked up already.

Nova installed our solar system, and was a pleasure to work with. They kept us regularly updated on the process, and were fast and efficient the whole time.

Nova Solar was our solar install pick because of the quick and professional answers to our questions. I communicated directly with technical people - there are no sales folks. Once we signed the contract, the process moved quickly and smoothly. We signed the contract on December 4th and install was February 28th. The paperwork was painless both for Nova Solar and all the paperwork for the local electric company, etc. Nova's project manager helped with all the required paperwork for grants, hookups, permits, etc. He made it so easy. The install was also painless and took only 4 hours. We liked that all the install workers were Nova Solar employees. They don't use subcontractors. They have an amazing install truck organized with all they might need. No delays, no issues. The employees are very professional and very nice to work with. If you ask questions, you quickly realize the breadth of their experience. After the install, our program manager provided us with all the paperwork we would need for grants and approval to connect to the local electric company. It was all very well organized and straightforward. We have been on solar now for over 3 full months and the performance of our system has been excellent! I very highly recommend Nova Solar. You will be amazed at how easy they make the process.

Jake and team installed a 10KW system on the south-facing portion of our roof, and 3 years in it continues to function flawlessly. the workmanship of all elements has been great, and we routinely get srec credits for carbon credits from the system, plus a major reduction in our energy bills since going operational. Can't recommend them enough.

We were in talks with Nova Solar for a number of months and finally decided to proceed with the project. They sent us a contract for about $39k. When we read it, they had some dubious terms in there, like forcing us to use them to replace our roofing if we needed to. When speaking to the operations manager, Barklie Eestes, his attitude was one of arrogance and jest. We reached out to him for over a week to get the agreement signed and move the project forward. They then went ahead and sent a contract for the same exact system for nearly $50k. Something their office manager confirmed, "should not have happened." Maybe they didn't like our name or that we actually read through their contract, but all around shady business practice.

Two weeks ago, we turned on our solar system installed by Nova Solar. On a partly cloudy day (rain in the morning, sunny afternoon with blue sky and some clouds), our solar system produced 44 kWh. When we got a perfect sunny day with blue sky and no clouds recently, our solar system recently produced 92.0 kWh based on the Enphase monitoring dashboard. Based on Nova Solar’s design of our solar system, 66.3 kWh of electricity is the projected daily generation for the month of April, so our solar is working as designed !! Jake, LB, Max, Trip, Julian, and Barklie are all very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Jake, our project manager, kept us informed throughout the process. He handled the paperwork and coordinated with county inspectors, utility company, and HOA. Nova Solar’s stay up to date with installation components and techniques to make the whole installation process efficient. Trip, Julian, and the installation team arrived early and finished installing our 34 panel solar system in 6 hours. Jake and the Nova Solar team provided a detailed write-up after the project was completed. My experience with Nova Solar, from start to finish, was overwhelmingly positive. The entire staff was professional, courteous, and went out of their way to answer the questions I had. During the design phase they revised their proposal in response to my inputs without hesitation. They provided information on available systems and the pros and cons of each, made sound recommendations and explained why they made them, put together the system I wanted even if I decided against a particular recommendation. The installation crew/electricians were efficient and obviously well-trained, and explained what they were doing if I asked. They put together all the paperwork I needed to apply for tax credits and deductions at both the local and federal levels. They initiated the process and did most of the paperwork to enable me to sell SRECs. Throughout the entire process they were very responsive to my questions/requests. I highly recommend Nova Solar if you're looking to install solar in the Northern Virginia area.

Nova Solar did a great job for us. Our solar project went so smoothly. They are thorough and prompt on everything (appointments, county permits, etc.). They provide plenty of information and even FAQs. It only took one week after our final inspection for Dominion to change out our meter so we could turn on the system, which was unexpected but awesome.

For such a major long-term investment, we wanted a solar company who installs high quality equipment and provides reliable customer service afterwards. Nova Solar has been a champ in every respect. They answered all our questions, offered options, and adapted as our energy needs changed when we bought an electric car. The panels, installed on time, look great. We’re so grateful they took care of all the carport EV charger details for us. Given the variability of weather, we are satisfied with how our power production measures up to Nova Solar estimates. During the switch-over (it takes time for Dominion Power to complete the process) we had a ton of questions. Nova Solar always responded quickly, professionally, and with a good attitude. They even researched a question they couldn’t answer right away and got back to us with a satisfactory answer. In short, the result has been fantastic. Nova Solar has earned our trust and we’re very glad we chose them.

I spent a lot of time researching companies when we decided to go Solar. Nova came out on top in every category. Once we signed the contract they exceeded even those high expectations. They are very professional and communicate well. We knew exactly what was going on with our project at all time. Their turn around time from contract signing to final install was very fast. It was less than 5 weeks between our initial signing and install day. On install day, the team arrived right when they said they would, worked very efficiently, and the system was installed and tested before the end of the day. I would pick Nova Solar over any other company.

We had an excellent experience working with Nova Solar from start to finish. Each member of the team we met was communicative, knowledgeable, professional and courteous – even to the extent of taking their shoes of when coming into the house without being asked. This was our first solar install in a new state and Nova Solar hand held us through the entire process; managing the building and electrical permits, the necessary inspections and setting us up with all the necessary tax documents. Highly recommend. NovaSolar team was highly responsive, very easy to communicate with, helpful with understanding the details of the system, before the installation. The installation went as planned in one day, and the system was set up and ready to go. After the installation, the team continued to guide us in next steps in getting the electric company to switch us over to net-metering, and ensuring we were able to understand the output of the system. We've just signed up for SRECs, with the help and advice of the NovaSolar team, and I expect that to go without a hitch. It was a pleasure working with this team.

I decided on Nova Solar based on other reviews as well as their competitive pricing. They are simply the most professional and communicative contractor I've ever worked with. I won't exaggerate and say they were instant on everything, but they always responded in what I would consider a reasonable amount of time and most times much quicker than that (on average less than 1 business day for response). They presented several viable options and pointed out the ones that included the best price to system performance value and explained them thoroughly. They were never pushy about anything and performed in a way that would be expected of a trusted advisor. Installation day went as smoothly, started early and went quickly. Honestly this is one of the best contractor's I've ever worked with.

We highly recommend Nova Solar to install solar panel systems at your home or business. We used Nova Solar to install a solar panel system at our home. Throughout the process Nova Solar was excellent. All of their staff were knowledgeable, easy to work with, and always provide quick responses. They provided detailed and timely answers to our many questions about installing panels on our home. The permits and installation went smoothly. Our house has a four sided roof including some shading issues. Their detailed analysis allowed us to determine our expected performance and costs. Our system has been running for two months now and is providing the expected performance. When one of the microinverters malfunctioned, they coordinated the timely replacement per warranty. They have continued to provide quick responses to questions after our system became operational. We have total confidence Nova Solar will continue to help us with any issues that occur in the future.

An excellent experience working with Nova Solar. We reviewed options and companies for solar as our new home was being built. We decided to use Nova Solar. They were helpful from beginning to completion. We had problems getting approval of the solar panels from our HOA. Nova Solar worked with us to provide all the necessary information and reconfiguration to get the approval. They managed all the building and electrical permits and all the necessary inspections. Once the panels and system were set up, they kept us advised on the status of Dominion Energy getting us connected. We were very impressed with the guidance they gave us on setting up the monitoring system and engaging a company to obtain Solar Renewable Energy Credits. They even provided a completed sample Federal Income Tax form for the tax credit and provided the completed form and guidance on applying for our county's property tax relief. Highly recommend.

It's difficult to accurately capture the level of positivity I have experienced with Nova Solar. From start to finish they were among the most professional, attentive and responsive companies I've ever worked with. Every question was answered quickly and clearly, every step in the complex process of juggling county, state and utility rules handled on their end. Our project required the use of a 3rd party pavilion installer which they fully handled, and now we have this amazing backyard shaded spot that's sucking up the photons and spitting out electrons. Extremely happy with the work that Nova Solar did to install my large 54 panel system. They quickly answered my (many) questions before and after system installation, along with being flexible when I asked to expand my system beyond the original proposal. After much research we chose Nova Solar for the installation of panels on the roof of our townhouse. We could not be any happier with the job they did. They told us what to expect and when and then delivered accordingly. We appreciate that though ours was probably a small job for them we felt as if they treated us extremely well. We reviewed half a dozen quotes prior to selecting Nova Solar for our project. They were responsive to our questions prior to selection, provided regular updates throughout the process, and handled all the administrative documentation for the state, county, utility, and HOA. The site survey and installation were convenient and the most professional. The system is attractive and has low visibility compared to other installations in our neighborhood. The Nova Solar team provided all of the documentation for the various incentives, pre-filled all but the personal identification and signatures. This was provided with a convenient online directory documenting the entire project. I recommend Nova Solar to my family, friends, and anyone who asks about our experience.

Nova Solar did a great job for us. The survey, paperwork and installation were handled expertly, on budget and on time with no surprises. Thus far the production is exceeding expectations. From the initial estimate to job completion, they were in constant communication. Throughout the paperwork process for the county and the electric utility, we got a status email each week, even if there was nothing new to report. After we got final permission to operate from the utility and turned the system on, Nova Solar provided a complete package of all of the paperwork and info needed for the solar energy credits. We can't say enough about the professionalism and expertise of Nova Solar.

Just completed the installation of a 9kW system on my house. NovaSolar handled everything, including patiently educating this elderly homeowner who was fairly ignorant of solar technology. I am thrilled to be generating my own power, especially now given what is happening in Ukraine and its potential impact on energy prices. Nova Solar installed a rooftop residential system for me in September of 2021. Everyone on the Nova Solar team was a pleasure to work with. They helped me understand what my options were, provided accurate cost estimates, preformed the work exactly as promised, help me get the system up and running, and answered every question I had the system was installed and certified. They provided top-flight professional service at every stage of the process. I have worked with plenty of frustrating contractors, but working with Nova Solar was the complete opposite. We had solar panels installed nine months ago by Nova Solar. I waited to give a review after seeing how the panels produce. Out of eight electric bills, we produced 100% of our power on four of them. We produced the majority of our power the remaining four months which was during the summer when our usage was pretty high. We had contacted two companies to give us quotes for solar. One company was quoting a 60% offset with high pressure sales, and the other company was quoting a 75% offset. We looked at reviews for both companies, and they were horrible. We had decided we probably would not go solar with the amount of money we would be spending to still have a pretty substantial electric bill. After doing some more research I stumbled upon Nova Solar. I could not find anything negative on this company. Believe me I looked for every review I could find. From the moment I made the first phone call to the end of the project everything went perfect. I had finally found a company that was quoting a 101% offset. They do an excellent job giving updates on the status of the project. On the day of installation, they were on the roof at 7 a.m. (one of them had driven over four hours to be here at that time). They use ladders that do not come in contact with the house guttering which was nice. They had installed 35 solar panels, done the wiring, and completed two inspections and were leaving our house at 1:15 p.m. These guys work great as a team. The only thing that seems a little odd is the panels are not the same color on a cloudy day. When it’s full sun, they all match. When I asked about it, they said they should even out over time, but it hasn’t happened yet. If you want to install solar on your home, I highly recommend Nova Solar.

I cannot say enough good things about Nova Solar. From the moment we requested a bid from them they have been nothing but professional. There solar bid was straight forward and there was no pressure to accept it, they were responsive to all questions along the way, kept me informed of everything going on and for those things they were responsible for everything was on time. They even took care of coordinating permits and inspections with Arlington County, and the cutover with Dominion Power. Working with them could not have been any easier.

When we ran into some issues following the installation of new siding on our home, we had a terrible time finding any reputable solar installers who would work on our system. In fact, one told me that they were only interested in installing new systems. Then I found Barklie and his team at Nova Solar. They helped us right from the start -- before we knew it, our system was up and running again, issues resolved, new parts ordered and installed. They were always very professional, willing to answer questions, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. We have a large system, and will undoubtedly have needs in the future to keep it working well. I chose Nova Solar because they seemed very knowledgeable about the details of their work. For example, they informed me that the vent pipes sticking out of my roof could just be cut short and PV panels installed over them. Another company said I would need to have the vents relocated to another part of the roof. I was very happy I chose Nova Solar. As we were gathering estimates from various installers, Nova Solar’s proposal was both competitively priced and based on realistic assumptions about the prospective system’s output. I was connected with Nova Solar through the Energy Sage market place. They were one of several quotes that I received. What caught my eye was the inclusion of a mockup of the panels on my actual roof (curiously, no other company did this). It allowed me to see exactly what I was getting into. After reaching out over the phone, one of the co-owners of the company ran through the financials with me including the incentives and the process of a solar loan. I hadn't committed to anything at that point, so taking the time to answer my questions was a very positive experience. After selecting Nova Solar, my contact was extremely responsive via email. He provided me with heads up when he was going to be stopping by for site inspections, etc. He and his crew were always punctual, never giving me a time frame but an actual exact time of arrival! On install day, the crew was respectful and personable. The crew member that had to enter the house stayed masked (as I have small children in the house). He explained everything he was doing. He showed me the panels, boxes, etc that I was of course curious about. Overall it was a great experience and they absolutely live up to their high customer rating! I would 100% recommend them!
