Do no go with ADT Solar in AZ
Just got the system up an running mid October 2023. Early January I noticed a roof tile about to fall down and several other cracks in the mortar between other tiles. Turns out the office in Arizona is closed now and it has been several weeks and no one has called back to schedule someone to do the repairs. Jan 21, 2024 we have been getting rain and I went in the attic to discover all 3 points where they ran the electrical wire from the panels are leaking. Called ADT Solar again and they said it will be a while since we are in a wind down area. Who knows how long it will take for the repairs to be made. Also, what about all the drill holes made in the roof to secure all the panels?!

Incompetent and Rude
The first year was great, solar installation with SunPro and set up went perfect and my electric bill was lower. I was happy, until my roof started to leak. Now I'm dealing with ADT Solar customer service that does not care, does not do their job and laughs at me for asking for them to fix the damage done to my roof because of the solar panels when I am only 2 years into my supposed 25 year warranty. If you want to go solar, please look anywhere but here, it has been a nightmare for the past two months with no end in sight with more damage being done to my ceiling and roof.

Horrible customer service
System was installed in the early summer of 2022. After three months the system went active at the end of August 2022. Worked fine until August of 2023 when suddenly the system stopped reporting. I assumed this was a system error that would be fixed after I rebooted the WiFi router. In September I received a bill from my local electric provider of over $250 for using the grid electric which up until this point I had been producing more electric than I used. Contacted ADT only to be told I needed to reboot the system and if they sent a technician out I would be charged for the service. Was emailed a self how-to video with instructions on how to reboot the system and reconnect to WiFi. Opened the panel only to find that there was no power to panel. Contacted ADT again and was told a work order would be submitted and someone would contact me to schedule a service. A month later I had not heard anything from ADT so I called back and was told a work order was pending. This went on and on for two months. At the end of November I filed a complaint with the BBB. I also drove to the local office only to find the local office closed down at the beginning of November 2023 with no notice. I received an email from Nicole Read who claimed she would help resolve my issues and get me scheduled for service. It is now mid January 2024 and my system is still down with no scheduled date for service to fix the system. I have multiple emails with Nicole Read and every time it’s the same BS that they are working on getting a service scheduled with a provider and no date is provided of when this will be fixed. Calling customer service gets you the usual “it’s pending for service” and they will not let you speak with anyone else regarding the matter. Twice the customer service representative hung up on me after voicing my frustration with having to pay for the system and an electric bill. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SOLAR FOR ANYONE. ITS NOT WHAT THEY SAY IT IS AND YOU WILL JUST BE STUCK WITH A PIECE OF CRAP WORTHLESS SYSTEM. ADT has the worst customer service. I spent thousands of dollars on equipment I cannot even use.

Going green
My name is Russell Langlands I had adt install a system on my house and was lied to as far as the sale went, I had told the young man who sold the system at first said install is free (nothing is free) any way I could not afford the $151 a month because I live on social security he said no problem he would get it down to $100 which I was good with, well after first year payment went to $151 now I’m stuck with the system that doesn’t work I found out a little over a year later power went out with power company I do not have power surprise you have to have power on at your home in order for the system to work, so in order for this system to work and generate power you have to have electricity at your home. All ADT said was sorry. So now I have a solar system at my home that doesn’t work unless you have power from power company DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON SOLAR ITS A RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Horrible; They Steal Your Money and Leave You Hanging
I paid cash for my solar panels, which went up in September 2023. It is now January 2024. They caused my project to fail the electrical inspection, claim they have no report of that inspection or the building inspection that I passed. People answer the phones who know nothing and say they will pass messages to those in charge of my project and I'll get a call. I never get called back. On January 3 I will report them to the BBB. I want my job finished ASAP (I was supposed to be up and running no later than the end of December) OR they can take their panels off, give me a new roof (so I have no holes in it) at their expense put on by my roofer of choice, and refund me my more than $28,000. It scares me if they finish my project because I will probably have to go to the BBB if I need service down the road. They don't sell anymore in Nebraska, and they didn't tell me this until the final day off installation; so they have apparently given up on those of us in the state. AVOID THIS SCAMMING COMPANY.

Go with the best…
After making the decision to invest in a solar system for my new home, I researched companies. ADT Solar kept coming up as one of the best for everything from options to cost, installation to customer service. My experience has borne that out, and I encourage everyone to contact ADT Solar. And if you can, ask for Jamie Manwell. I got lucky when he came for a consultation. After getting a sense of what I needed, and then what I wanted, Jamie outlined my options. If you’re worried about a “hard sell”, don’t be. After making the case for why a single Powerwall would easily meet my needs, that’s what I went with. A few days later, I decided that it would be easier to install two than to add a second at a later date. A quick call to Jamie and the new order was completed within an hour. I was then contacted by Maria Barraza about the process for applications through the HOA, the city, and the power company, something ADT handled from start to finish. In fairly short order, I received a call to schedule installation. That was handled easily, and the two crews arrived on time, worked quickly, and cleaned up everything before leaving. (I think they even cleaned up after the construction crew working next door.) Maria kept me informed through the inspection/approval process, and when that was complete, I was told what to expect next. No process is ever without a hitch or two, and mine came on the homestretch. With the holidays, and everyone being so busy, the final “let’s get this baby turned on” step was taking a bit longer than expected. I reached out to Jamie to ask for suggestions on how to get this finished. It was early, on a Monday morning, and despite having appointments and meetings, he made the time to get it done. He even took the time to make sure I knew how to use the apps to monitor the Powerwall and usage. Choosing to go with a solar system is a long-term investment, so it’s important to work with people committed to providing excellent customer service at every step. Jamie and the folks at ADT Solar are those people.

I did a lot of research on several solar companies before deciding on ADT Solar for the following reasons: pricing, quality products, 25-yr warranty and maintenance service. Additionally ADT Solar bought SunPro which is a stellar name in the solar industry.
